Position Summary

Under the direction and guidance of the Test Engineer III & Quality Assurance Manager, the Test Engineer II will work with the Solution Architect and the Cloud Architect to assist with coordinating, implementing, and supporting the overall test automation framework for the PropLogix enterprise. The Test Engineer II will be responsible for creating and maintaining automated test suites as systems grow and change. This role will also work with Project Managers/Scrum Masters, Solution Architects, and other project team members to meet project objectives.

 

This position requires a solid working knowledge of system testing patterns and practices. This positions will routinely produce high-quality work products in all but the most complex or exceptional situations. A Test Engineer II will typically be able to assess and determine the best course of action to take in a given situation and understand how and when to apply standards and guidelines. We're looking for someone proficient and experienced in various test automation technologies; they can present and effectively communicate to all competency levels the importance of best practice methods and the benefits of using them. They also support implementing these practices and patterns within the enterprise and can assist with mentoring more junior QAs in learning and understanding automation from a tactical perspective.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time remote position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., EST. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Essential Functions

  • Accept and clarify testing requirements
  • Identify and prioritize test conditions addressing product risks and features to be tested
  • Define specific tests that must be designed for that area
  • Design test cases and suites of test cases to cover test conditions
  • Identify necessary test data to support test conditions and test cases
  • Schedule test executions in order

 

Department Specific Functions

  • Develop test procedures and quality documentation: overall product regression suites, specific project and sprint test plans, test cases, and status reports for management
  • Development of automated tests and scripts for the existing and new functionality
  • Execute or delegate exploratory, automated, and regression tests
  • Analyze actual results against the expected ones
  • Actively participate in the technical review process
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies
  • On-going maintenance of automated test scripts

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (Relating to IT), Required; Bachelor’s Degree, Preferred
  • 4 Years’ Experience as a Test Engineer, including experience with .NET Core and Javascript frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Smartbear, Insomnia
  • Hands-on experience with automated software testing tools such as Selenium
  • Development of automated functional and performance test scripts for REST APIs and Web Applications
  • Utilization of version control systems such as Git
  • Effective Communication Skills (Verbal, Written, and Technical)
  • Familiarity with integration of automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Expertise in automated testing of container-based microservice architectures
  • Experience with distributed performance testing in a cloud-based environment
  • Reliable/responsible, proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, professional, ethical, tolerant of differences, and flexible
  • Critical thinking, negotiation, and organization skills are a must
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Comfortable working on a virtual team
