Our digital financing platform is used by mobile app and game developers worldwide and provides a complementary funding source to venture capital for high growth businesses.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to lead the marketing and PR activities of Pollen VC as we further expand our business in Europe and North America. A big part of our mission focuses on app and game developer financial education and capital efficiency. We provide extensive resources for CEOs, CFOs and UA managers of app companies -- these include a suite of calculators, templates, technical articles, guides, video series and a podcast. We also regularly participate in online and offline industry events.

Working closely with the CEO, VP of Growth and an established network of trusted freelancers, the candidate will create engaging content and campaigns that build awareness and generate deal flow for our lending business. This position is fully remote and we are looking for a candidate who is based in Europe: GMT plus-minus several hours (being close to London is a plus for an occasional in-person meeting).

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a B2B marketing role at a mobile related startup or venture fund in a fast-growing environment. They will have a clear idea of how to support the growth of a B2B business in the mobile app/game space. They have spent a few years as an individual contributor, but have managed external contractors or a small team.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who executes fast without compromising quality. They will be “a manager of one”, not requiring heavy oversight and daily check-ins, capable of building something from scratch and seeing it through. At the outset, they will work as an individual contributor together with internal team and external partners. This role requires both strategic initiative and ability to execute against set parameters on a significant number of ongoing projects.


  • Own content production, working together with wider team to deliver key content pieces to our blog, partner blogs and social media
  • Create and manage engaging email newsletter for our customers, partners and prospects
  • Work with partners to create engaging video and podcast content alongside written content on our blog
  • Manage our network of freelancers and external PR consultants
  • Manage our CRM platform working with our BDM
  • Plan and execute online and offline events

To be successful in this role, you should have hands-on experience with web analytics tools and be able to turn creative ideas into effective advertising projects. Ultimately, you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels.


  • Proficiency / native level communication in English (oral and written)
  • About 3 to 7 years of experience in a marketing role within a start-up, agency environment or venture capital
  • Previous experience in the mobile gaming/apps industry and a good understanding of the ecosystem
  • Understanding of F2P and subscription business models
  • Experience with setting up and managing marketing automation systems
  • Experience managing B2B email marketing newsletters
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Analytical, curious mindset and desire to look for new ways of solving problems
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Excellent ability to work with leading marketing automation platforms (eg MailChimp) and graphics package knowledge (eg Canva, Figma, etc)
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise
  • Process and detail oriented and constant desire to improve
  • This role is open to candidates residing in Europe (ideally Western Europe) - you will interact with team members on GMT and CEST, and Pacific Time, which requires occasional evening work #LI-Remote

Your Team

Colleagues on your team include VP of Growth & Analytics, Business Development Manager, and our small network of trusted contractors. You will also work closely with the CEO on certain projects.

What Will You Do Once Hired

In 1 month you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our business
  • Review previous department work done
  • Inherit a list of marketing projects and create a execution plan
  • Develop working relationship with colleagues
  • Own weekly content and email marketing responsibilities
  • Own SEO project
  • Start developing paid marketing strategy together with VP of Growth

In 3 months you will:

  • Complete the list of inherited projects and move on to the planning and execution of new initiatives
  • Develop new marketing initiatives geared towards brand awareness and business development
  • Support internal teams on marketing support of ongoing projects
  • Own our content & event framework
  • Own paid marketing strategy execution
