POSITION SUMMARY: The Sikh Coalition is seeking an individual with a strong track record to manage and scale the fast-paced growth of the Sikh Coalition’s fundraising and operations. An integral member of the team, the Director/Senior Director of Development and Operations will be responsible for managing and growing the organization’s annual budget of more than $2.4 million, driving the fundraising strategy and execution, and strengthening the organization’s operational infrastructure and management practices.
This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director and will supervise two full-time staff members. This will be a fully remote position but will require travel.
Key Areas / Responsibilities
Development/fundraising responsibilities will include:
Work with the Executive Director to set annual targets, and develop and implement fundraising strategies to achieve agreed-upon goals.
Lead in the creation of the organization’s annual development plan, including donor solicitation strategy, and supervision of all fundraising work
Cultivate new sources of funding, including identifying new revenue streams and meeting with major donors and prospects.
Develop and grow relationships with key community donors and foundation program officers.
Oversee all fundraising events including identifying sponsorship prospects, logistics, and representing the organization at said events.
Plan and execute fundraising events across different geographies
Personally manage a portfolio of high networth donors (six/seven figure) and prospects including making direct solicitations either virtually or in-person.
Collaborate with the communications team to develop a digital fundraising strategy.
Provide oversight for all foundation applications and reporting.
Work closely with board members to develop and maintain high net-worth donors.
Furnish board with regular progress reports.
Work closely with the Executive Director and board to develop and implement strategy to grow endowment and investment funds.
Operation, finance and HR responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with the Executive Director to draft the annual budget and oversee expenditures and evolving needs.
Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting.
Manage and improve all fiscal activities and government filings including the annual audit process.
Ensure that the organization’s legal and financial compliance requirements are met, that the organization is protected from undue financial, legal and reputational risks, and that funds are disbursed in accordance with contract requirements and donor designations.
Manage staff recruitment and onboarding.
Overseeing operations for the intern and fellowship programs.
Oversee remote working functions in addition to physical office(s).
Ensure the team has the best technology and systems available.
Oversee the development and refinement of performance management and talent development processes and systems.
Oversee staffing needs of organization, organizational structure and the roles and responsibilities of staff.
Manage communication of updates between the board of directors and senior management.
Lead presentations and walk-throughs of programmatic and HR responsibilities to the board of directors.
Serve as liaison between staff and board of directors for all approvals and updates.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least seven years experience in non-profit, fundraising and/or operations experience is highly preferred.
Must have excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills and an entrepreneurial spirit (be a self-starter).
Highly developed organization skills with the ability to handle multiple, quickly shifting priorities.
Excellent project management and process development skills, including ability to design and maintain effective systems, gather resources and establish priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships across a diverse spectrum of stakeholders and communities, and to influence leaders in the private, government, and non-profit sectors.
Excellent organizational and communications skills (both oral and written) and proven ability to close major gifts.
Strong interest and understanding of technologies and technology integrations including a strong command of CRMs (familiarity with Salesforce and Salsa Labs a plus) and wealth engines.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze, disseminate and explain data with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with bookkeeping and financial reporting, including familiarity with Quickbooks, is a plus.
Punjabi language skills preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, remote, exempt salaried position and compensation will depend on the role and commensurate with experience in the $90,000-135,000 range. Benefits include:
