We are looking for an experiencedĀ Back-EndĀ Architect!

Ā

You have an opportunity to work at the Nursa.com team to change the future of healthcare. Our tech leaders are skilled engineers (intro to BDD style e2e testing, see Maks at IoniConf 2021 orĀ Ionic Poland meetup) with a strong business & product development mindset.Ā

Ā

We are helping healthcare facilities fill their staffing needs through our innovative talent marketplace. Weā€™re seeking to hire a Back-End ArchitectĀ to join our startup team in developing our exciting marketplace app that has been experiencing a spectacular 22x growth in the last 12 months!Ā

Ā

We've been profitable since Dec 2020, and we're constantly developing new markets. We can proudly admit that we're a young and working hard company where you will experience many exciting challenges creating a mature tech organization!

Why us?

We're currently in the process of becoming a high-performing tech organization, and you can help set up the foundations. Our focus is on the DORA metrics, which require improvement in many areas of our codebase and engineering culture.
Usually, you arrive at a mature organization, and you can't participate in the decision-making process. At Nursa, you will directly impact our current and future direction of Front-End architecture and best practices.

At each level of our tech and business organization, we have to learn to give away our legos, and we constantly encounter new, exciting challenges. In September 2021, our tech team was only 15 people. It's April 2022, and we're about to break 70 people across seven teams and 14 countries.

Our Current TechĀ Stack: Capacitor, Ionic, Angular, NGXS, TypeScript,Ā Node.js, express.js, Nest.js, firebase, Postgresql, Redis, RabbitMQ,Ā google cloud platform, Kubernetes, terraform, helm, and more.

We may also explore other technologies we have experience with (ex., read about CI/CD in Flutter).

Letā€™s get down to business.

The ā€œchosen oneā€ has to be eager to learn and explore new technologies/services/challenges, love to jump into the unknown, be highly self-motivated, and ready for a dynamic startup environment šŸ’Ŗ

Your daily tasks will include
  • being hands-on with code and software architectureĀ (~70 % of the time);
  • performing code reviews;
  • introducing best practices and standards;
  • sharing knowledge and coaching the other engineers;
  • participating in making Nursa a cutting edge technology company;
  • taking on R&D efforts as well as strategic refactoring and managing the technical debt;
  • delegating development tasks and supporting the team to achieve the best velocity;
  • collaboration on best QA practices.
What youā€™ll get
  • Fully remote position in an international team spread across many countries;
  • An exciting project that makes a tangible impact on the world and the healthcare industry;
  • Work with experienced engineers and growth opportunities;
  • Work with modern technology stack and best development practices;
  • Work culture based on trust and flexibility ā€“ no working overtime;
  • Transparently built relations based on trust and fair play;
  • 20 days of paid vacation;
  • Casual atmosphere and learning materials.
  • Min. 6 years as a Software Engineer and 3 years of back-end experience;
  • Experience with Node.JS, JavaScript and TypeScript;
  • Understanding of OOP/OOD practices ā€“ especially SOLID principles, YAGNI, DRY;
  • Practice with BE architectures and good patterns and practices;
  • Good approach to testing and QA assurance (ideally TDD or BDD practice);
  • Practice with any of: DDD, CQRS, Hexagonal, Onion (or other layered architectures), Event Sourcing, Event Storming, related patterns;
  • Good approach to Code Reviews;Ā
  • History building APIs for mobile or IoT/embedded devices;
  • Experience drawing architecture diagrams using tools like Miro or draw.io;
  • You have a start-up mindset: a "can-do" attitude, youā€™re proactive, and a team player;
  • Ability to share knowledge and enable growth;
  • Good knowledge of English (min. B2, ideally C1 or C2).
Bonus points for
  • Formal IT education;
  • Understanding of software complexity;
  • Practice with a test-first approach;
  • Hybrid mobile development skills;
